​In the Spring of 2022, The Foursquare Church from the Central District began scouting out potential leaders for church planting in Fort Collins, CO at their location on West Harmony Road. After much time, prayer, and preparation, The Lachances, who were serving in their local church and were business owners in Virginia, moved across the nation in response.

Since the Lachance’s arrival in June 2023, they sought to build community with their neighbors (literally) and network with the larger community in Fort Collins and Northern Colorado. Their passion is to establish a nucleus that seeks to know God in saving faith, knowledge, and hope (Titus1:1-2) through prayer, worship, and Bible-based foundations. They are also passionate about equipping committed believers to walk in wholeness and engage with a loving servant's heart to care for the community both within the walls of the local church, their neighbors, and the community at large.

In the summer of 2023, Avid Church participated with other ministries to host Praise in the Park in Fort Collins City Park. Among those leaders were Todd and Crissy Sell who inspired the event. Todd now serves as the Worship Director at Avid Church. The church was a sponsor of the event and met many of the core team through a kiosk advertising the Alpha Course. Others have joined and the bond between the group is approachable, supportive, and inviting.

One other aspect of Avid Church is that it is part of a global movement that is celebrating 100 years (January 2023) and counts 156 countries with Foursquare works and/or missionaries. When The Foursquare Church President Randy Remington was asked in winter 2023 what he was seeing. His response was:

“Foursquare is at its best when we are together- praying, worshipping, and hearing from heaven with one another… Being connected to our global family is a big reason so many of us continue to join what God is doing through this movement. The generosity and humility of our brothers and sisters worldwide always inspire me. I’m seeing us ‘together’ and on ‘mission’.”

As Avid Church and The Foursquare Church move into a new century with the same Jesus (the same yesterday, today, and forever – Heb. 13:8) the expectation is that the story continues to be written with the moving of the Spirit of God as it reaches the hearts and lives of those who come to know Jesus as Savior, Healer, Baptizer in the Holy Spirit and Coming King.
